Currently looking for a Maintenance Electrician to fill an opening with a company in Elgin, IL. Interested candidates should have at least one year of Maintenance Electrician experience in manufacturing.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Electrician
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on the electrical systems including assembly, disassembly and calibration for machinery used in the metal forming industry
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical maintenance issues on presses and other metal forming machinery as well as the overall facility including air compressors, etc.
Run tests on equipment in order to identify and isolate electrical issues
Utilize wire strippers, continuity testers, voltmeters and other electrical and power tools as needed
Bend and install conduit as well as pull wire and cable
Install the electrical side of new and rebuilt equipment
Review electrical prints and schematics and compliance to NEC (National Electric Codes) as well as OSHA safety standards
Become familiar with or apply your expertise (if you already have it) to install and troubleshoot AC and DC Drives and single and three phase motors and motor control systems
Requirements of the Maintenance Electrician
High School Diploma or GED
At least one year of Maintenance Electrician experience in manufacturing
More experience is a strong plus
Electrical Certifications or Vocational Certifications are a plus
Compensation for the Maintenance Electrician
The targeted hourly base salary for this first shift position ranges from $27.00 per hour to $42.00 per hour depending on experience.
