    Description

    Position Summary:

    The Maintenance-Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of plant equipment by developing analysis methods, identifying problem areas, and implementing improvement plans.

    This role facilitates reliability review meetings, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions and provides training in reliability principles.

    Additionally, the engineer leads the development and implementation of the site's Mechanical Integrity program to maintain plant efficiency and regulatory compliance.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide technical support and engineering guidance for maintenance activities to drive plant reliability and operational continuity.
    • Analyze equipment performance data, identify bad actors, and implement targeted corrective actions to reduce unplanned downtime.
    • Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance (PM) programs and mechanical integrity initiatives to extend asset life and ensure safe operation.
    • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions and spearhead reliability improvement initiatives across the facility.
    • Track and report on key performance indicators including Mean Time Between Repair (MTBR) to monitor reliability trends and inform decision-making.
    • Manage and promote compliance with ISO 9000 standards and the company's 20 Principles Safety Program.
    • Participate actively in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), incident investigations, and Management of Change (MOC) reviews.
    • Conduct site inspections and ensure strict adherence to planned maintenance schedules and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to sustain safe and efficient plant operations.
    • Manage small capital projects up to $150,000 and actively contribute to cost reduction and efficiency improvement efforts.


    Skills and Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
    • Strong understanding of process equipment, including pumps, compressors, piping, vessels, exchangers, and relief valves.
    • Experience with reliability methodologies, mechanical integrity programs, and maintenance best practices.
    • Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot technical issues and implement cost-effective solutions.
    • Preferred experience with SAP and other maintenance management systems.
    • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
