    We are seeking a skilled Precision Manual Machinist operate manual machine tools to manufacture high-quality precision components. This role requires reading blueprints, performing machine setups, maintaining tight tolerances, and ensuring finished products meet quality standards.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Use manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
    • Select proper tooling, fixtures, materials, and machining methods.
    • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring equipment.
    • Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed.
    • Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
    • Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve problems.
    • Design or modify tooling and fixtures as needed.
    • Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication.
    • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
    • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

    Requirements

    Education/Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • 5+ years of machine shop/manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 1+ year certificate from machine trade school or equivalent technical school preferred.
    • Experience with manual machining equipment.
    • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators.
    • Ability to perform machine setups and maintain close tolerances.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
    • Basic computer skills; CAM software experience is a plus.
    • Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Regular use of hands and arms for operating machinery and handling materials.
    • Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery and moderate to loud noise levels.
    • Close attention to detail and visual inspection of parts.
