Marketing and Event Coordinator

Position Overview

The Marketing and Event Coordinator playsan important role in social media content creation, distribution, and engagement, as well as covering a range of on and off-campus events for promotional purposes. This position works closely with the Marketing team to establish a dynamic and engaging social media presence and generate testimonials and visual assets from school events to showcase the Northwest School's academic, vibrant, and diverse identity. Coordinating with other administrative and faculty partners, and tracking engagement for continuous improvement are required.

Essential Duties:
  • Create, schedule, publish, and monitor social media content (e.g., posts, reels, short videos, etc.) to increase engagement, followers, and brand awareness.
  • Attend various campus events and collect testimonials and visual content (e.g., photographs, short videos, etc.) for use in marketing messaging and campaigns.
  • Contribute to social media campaign planning and development, including methods to diversify and optimize engagement & conversion among key audiences.
  • Support marketing campaigns by tracking analytics and metrics related to social media and online engagement
  • Support and develop content for the annual yearbook, including publication design and layout (Adobe Suite experience preferred).
Other Responsibilities:
  • Effective communications and planning with campus colleagues, partners, alumni, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, including the ability to track multiple events, projects, deadlines, and commitments.
  • Attention to detail in writing, editing, formatting, publishing, and brand management.
  • Maintain regular and reliable onsite attendance as a core and essential function of the position – some events may occur outside (before and/or after) regular workhours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct Supervisor or the Head of School.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the school's mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, environmental sustainability, and global perspective.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or digital marketing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in marketing, digital promotion, communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in social media management, vertical format storytelling & photography, online marketing, and creating digital promotional content

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in social media marketing, vertical video creation, and/or photography.
  • Adobe Suite experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift to 25 pounds in connection with job duties, such as assisting with setup or moving materials.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and move comfortably on campus for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs and navigate uneven surfaces as needed between locations within and outside school buildings.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required at times.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range is $36 per hour to $39 per hour based on education and years of experience. This is a 0.5 FTE hourly position and is not eligible for benefits.
