About the Position
Golf Pride® Grips, played by 80% of tour players, aims to further strengthen our brand with the assistance of a Retail Associate Tech to assist our Lead Tour Technician in the Retail Lab in our first ever Tour Authentic Grip Experience.
Primary Function: Golf Pride is opening their first ever Tour Authentic Re-Gripping Experience at its Global Innovation Center (GIC) in Pinehurst, NC and is looking for a Retail Associate Tech to assist the lead tour technician in the lab. The associate tech is responsible for providing exceptional service to consumers visiting the GIC and Retail Lab as well as providing support in various capacities to the Tour Tech and Consumer Experience team to play an instrumental role in growing this new venture.
As a Tour Technician, you will provide expert, tour level product consultation & grip install to each consumer from greeting to product selection, installation & check out. The Tour Technician will be responsible for working with Golf Pride's GIC team to loop support in new product & install development insights to grow the category as well as the daily operation of the experience center. The associate tech will assist with consumer grip selection process, various install steps, research collection/testing and other tasks to support the retail experience.
Essential Functions
- Retail Experience Support
- Contribute to install efficiency: tasks including but not limited to, removing grip, removing grip tape, cleaning, restocking supplies, and assisting customer service needs
- Provide grip size and model recommendations according to consumers' needs
- Support workflow for all services to achieve quoted turn-around times to meet consumers needs
- Uphold company standards for merchandise and product presentation to meet the standards of the best golf grip brand in the industry
- Assist consumers in selecting the best Golf Pride grip(s) for their game, providing tour insights and exclusive product knowledge throughout the selection process
- Install consumers selected grips on clubs with extreme precision with the ability to use various install methods based on what the consumer wants/needs – providing the best spec'd install in the market
- Assist with inventory restock, counts and movements
- Processing various retail transactions, such as returns, discounts and general transactions
- Identifying low-stock or out-of-stock items and supplies in the Retail Lab and notifying team lead
- Gather insights from the consumer install experience to reduce the install pain point, evolve the process and assist in developing an effortless install standard
- Following procedures and processes for consumer interactions, club intake information and regripping process
- Addressing customer concerns and resolving them promptly to the customer's satisfaction
- Provide a luxury world class experience for all consumers; greet and establish what each consumer wants and/or needs to then recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise with an "inside the ropes" experience – wasting no time and ensuring the consumer knows they are as important as the pros
- Provide support in consumer research in the fitting studio with tasks including but not limited to staging demo clubs for consumers & execute tests directed by research lead. Able to pull from past experiences or other 'inside the ropes' experience to share stories with the consumers, mixing the worlds of retail and tour
- Create and build brand advocates who return to Golf Pride and promote our brand to others
- Assist store manager with managing grip and merchandise inventory, samples, supplies & collateral
- Aid in the development of the Golf Pride Experience to reach a level of "must see" when visiting the Pinehurst area, giving each consumer a tour authentic, custom experience
- Assist in positioning the facility as a highly advanced, technical and premium experience for all consumers
- Promote the attributes of the merchandise and product, answering all questions, keeping up-to-date on company promotions, policies and safety practices
- Educating golfers and other partners about the grip and install process, building their grip IQ and increasing the overall re-gripping incident rate
- Maintaining the Retail Lab and surrounding area in a clean, professional presentation at all times.
- Staying current with new golf technologies and ever-changing equipment features and incorporating product knowledge into customer recommendations.
- Willing to learn and adhere to evolving processes and procedures implemented by the consumer experience manager
- Begin to establish policy and information of Golf Pride's fitting experience, working closely with store manager and NPD team on data collection
- Incorporate history, tour and retail information when discussing product with the consumer and able to provide a basic explanation of the grip making process
- Maintain a high level of understanding of industry equipment trends, tour player 'what's in the bag' and other factors that impact the golfer
- Maintain an expert knowledge of company's current product line and future product trends. Be aware of product life cycles and help identify inventory changes to store manager
