    Description

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    The Marketing Executive (Women & Girls Football) will play a key role in supporting the Senior Brand & Marketing Manager to increase awareness, attendances and engagement across Women & Girls football in Wales. The successful candidate will be responsiblefor developing and delivering marketing and promotional campaigns for Senior Cymru Women's National Team matches, as well as leading seasonal marketing activity for the Adran Leagues, with a particular focus on the Adran Premier. They will also support the promotion of Women & Girls programmes across participation, coaching and refereeing, helping to grow awareness and inspire greater involvement at every level of the game.

    Working collaboratively across the organisation, the Marketing Executive will identify opportunities to grow audiences, create engaging content, strengthen marketing performance and improve processes to maximise the impact of campaigns. Building on the momentum of reaching more than 20,000 registered girls playing football in Wales in 2026 and increasing attendances at Senior Cymru Women's matches, the successful candidate will play an important role in delivering the FAW's new Women & Girls Strategy that will be launching soon.     KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY

    The FAW is looking to recruit a Marketing Executive (Women & Girls Football) to support the delivery of engaging marketing campaigns and digital content that grow awareness, participation and engagement across women and girls' football in Wales.

    Working closely with the Senior Brand & Marketing Manager, and the wider Marketing and Communication teams, the successful candidate will help deliver integrated marketing campaigns across the Women's National Team, Adran Leagues and grassroots programmes. They will play an important role in supporting the FAW's strategic objectives to grow participation, increase attendances, inspire more women to coach and referee, and encourage more women to work within the game.

    The key accountabilities and responsibilities are as follows:

    • Plan and deliver branding, marketing and ticket sales campaigns for Senior Cymru Women's National Team matches.
    • Support the development and delivery of seasonal marketing campaigns for the Adran Leagues, with a primary focus on the Adran Premier, as well as the Bute Energy Welsh Cup Final.
    • Support the Senior Brand & Marketing Manager in identifying opportunities to grow all aspects of women's and girls' football through the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns and social media activity across FAW channels.
    • Use audience insight and value-adding marketing techniques to develop targeted campaigns that engage new and existing audiences through personalised messaging.
    • Work collaboratively with the Grassroots Marketing Executive to deliver annual marketing and media plans that drive girls' participation and raise awareness of the FAW's grassroots programmes, including Huddle and BE.FC.
    • Develop and deliver engaging digital content plans to increase the visibility and impact of the BE Football Mentoring programme.
    • Work with the relevant teams to find opportunities to increase the number of women coaches and referees in Wales.
    • Create engaging content that raises awareness of the wide range of opportunities for women to volunteer and work within football.
    • Support the marketing, branding and promotion of Women & Girls football events throughout the year.
    • Deliver marketing activations for Women & Girls commercial partnerships.
    • Analyse marketing performance, audience trends, data and demographics to identify opportunities to increase engagement and support continued growth across women's and girls' football.
    • Keep up to date with emerging marketing trends and digital channels, identifying opportunities to connect with new audiences and improve campaign performance.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, commercial partners, media, grassroots stakeholders and the wider football community across Wales.
    • Produce and present regular campaign performance reports and insights for internal and external stakeholders, including setting campaign KPIs in line with wider strategy.
    • Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure marketing activity is aligned, consistent and reflects the FAW brand.
    • Carry out all duties in accordance with FAW policies, procedures and values.
    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Qualifications:
    • Educated to degree level in marketing or a related field, or the equivalent work experience.
    • Two-three years' experience in a marketing position, preferably in sports.
    Knowledge, Skills & Experience - Essential:
    • A strong knowledge and understanding of women's and girls' sport.
    • A passion to grow women and girls' football in Wales.
    • Experience in developing and implementing marketing and content plans to increase sales, awareness and engagement; including setting campaign goals/KPIs and delivering to those.
    • Experience in creating messaging and using a variety of marketing techniques and channels to target different audiences, such as email marketing, social media, advertising etc.
    • Experience in ideation and creation of content for marketing purposes and social media channels using innovative tactics, such as writing articles, newsletter/social media copy to raise awareness of impactful stories.
    • Personal attributes including Customer Service, Creativity, Client Relationships, Interpersonal Communication, and Written and Verbal Communication.
    • The ability to work as part of a team but also without supervision.
    • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
    • Ability to continually learn and adapt to change.
    • Experience of Microsoft applications, for example Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook are essential.
    • The ability to work outside of normal working hours, when necessary during the football season.
    Knowledge, Skills & Experience - Desirable:
    • Experience in a marketing position for a sports organisation.
    • The ability to speak Welsh.
    • Knowledge of setting up Paid Ads, such as Meta Ads and Google Ads.
    • The ability to use design tools such as Adobe Photoshop.
    • The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and two professional / personal references, to the satisfaction of the FAW.
