Job Description
Qualifications- Minimum of high school education
- Valid City of Jackson electrical master card
- Knowledge of electricity, wiring methods, and electrical maintenance
- Five years electrical work experience
- Maintain operational residence telephone
- Ability to climb and work from ladders and scaffolds
- Valid Mississippi motor vehicle operator's license
- Must be insurable by district insurance carrier
- Pass drug and background test as outlined by district policy
Reports ToElectrical Supervisor
Essential Functions- Reads blueprints and schematic diagrams
- Troubleshoots and repairs complicated electrical and electronic equipment and wiring systems
- Installs electrical conduit and wiring
- Designs and installs electrical systems and equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance on electrical equipment
- Fabricates and installs various metal components such as fan guards, equipment containers, mounting brackets, panel covers, etc.
- Prepares estimates of time and materials for construction projects
- Keeps record of work and materials used
- Exercises proper safety precautions during performance of daily job assignments
- Secures keys, materials, equipment, tools, and supplies carried on work vehicle
- Works overtime as necessary for emergency work and special job assignments
- Assists members of the department and members of other departments when needed
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned
