Description
Material Handler I
The Material Handler I is responsible for supporting the movement, handling, and storage of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods in a cGMP manufacturing environment. This entry-level role focuses on accurate material handling, basic inventory tasks, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
Essential Functions
Receive and inspect incoming materials for accuracy and damage.
Store materials in designated warehouse locations following established procedures.
Pick, stage, and deliver materials to internal departments as requested.
Assist with maintaining warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
Perform basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and stock checks.
Accurately complete required documentation and perform data entry in inventory systems.
Support packaging and preparation of materials for internal movement or shipment.
Uses material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, and forklifts, to move materials.
Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and cGMP requirements.
Work collaboratively with team members and support other warehouse activities as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Associate's degree is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
Experience in a GMP, FDA-regulated, biotechnology environment is preferred.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices; Kan Ban, JIT, FEFO preferred.
Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Mathematical skills including the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Demonstrates appropriate safety consciousness. Follow Environmental, Health and Safety rules/regulations and report any workplace incidents, injuries or accidents immediately.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates attention to detail; sense of urgency; deadline driven.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
