Accountable for delivering service, cost, inventory performance, and people development through effective planning processes, team leadership, and cross-functional coordination.Scope & ComplexityPlanning Scope: multi-site responsibility across assigned material categoriesSpend/Inventory Impact: Direct influence on material inventory, working capital, project execution, and supplier performanceTeam Leadership: Direct management of material plannersSystems: SAP ECC / APO / IBP or equivalent planning toolsDecision Horizon: Tactical (0–12 months) with input into strategic planningKey AccountabilitiesOwn end-to-end material supply plans aligned to demand, production, and inventory targetsBalance service, inventory, and cost through scenario-based planning and trade-off decisionsManage material constraints, supplier performance issues, and supply risksEnsure accurate and timely execution of planning outputs in systemsMeasures of SuccessWorking capital performanceMaterial availability / line downtime due to shortagesContinuous Improvement & Capability BuildingLead initiatives to improve planning accuracy, efficiency, and standardizationDrive adoption of best practices, KPIs, and system capabilities (e.g., SAP IBP)Identify and eliminate root causes of planning inefficienciesMeasures of SuccessForecast accuracy improvement (materials)Inventory optimization (reduction in excess/obsolete)Process adherence and cycle time improvementsLead, coach, and develop a team of material plannersEstablish clear goals, performance expectations, and development plansBuild planning capability and succession pipelineMeasures of SuccessTeam performance vs. KPIsEmployee engagement and retentionCapability progression within teamCross-Functional & External CollaborationPartner with Procurement, Operations, and Suppliers to ensure material availabilityInfluence stakeholders to resolve constraints and align prioritiesSupport supplier S&OP and performance management processesMeasures of SuccessSupplier OTIF and reliabilityReduced escalation frequencyImproved cross-functional plan adherenceQualifications 5+ years of experience in material planning, supply planning, or supply chain managementPrior experience in CPG, beverage, or similarly complex manufacturing environments preferredDemonstrated team leadership experienceStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsExperience with SAP (ECC, APO, IBP, S4Hana) or equivalent planning systemsStrong communication and stakeholder management capabilitiesSalary and BenefitsThe salary range for this role is $75,000–$95,000 per year, along with an annual bonus, 401(k) match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits.
