    Description

    Job SummaryMaterial Planner V will be the functional leader responsible for management and execution of all phases of the assigned program production plans. Includes coordination with program scheduler/planner, determination of program production schedule requirements, and integration with key program functions and suppliers to develop, maintain and drive successful and timely execution of the detailed production plans. This position will focus primarily on programs in the prototyping, design and development portion of the product life cycle and will require strong experience with organizing and planning to accomplish program objectives and demands.ResponsibilitiesPartner with the program manager, program planner/scheduler, control account managers and other program team members from the supply chain, quality and operations functions to strategize and create a plan that ensures production schedules and supply and demand requirements are aligned to meet program deliverable requirementsInterpersonal communication (both spoken and written) to include communication with program teams, company management, business partners, and customersUnless otherwise stated in the requirements section of an developing the production schedule based on lead time analysis of each supplier/operation required to meet program need dates according to the program IMSPlan, direct and monitor execution of the production schedule through timely release of engineering drawings to issuance of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and track supplier status at each stage of the production plan to ensure maximum opportunity for timely order fulfillmentCreate and utilize tools required to status on‑going efforts in all stages of the production plan to enable active management of the production planWork closely with VTS management and the program team to ensure that all supply/demand risks and critical shortage issues are identified early and proactively elevated and properly acted uponConduct status meetings with internal and external customersDevelop processes for monitoring and reporting production capacity, purchasing activities and critical shortagesSupport the development and implementation of performance metrics such as On‑Time Purchase Requisition issuance, On‑Time Delivery to Contract and On‑Time Delivery to ManufacturingWork closely with the assigned program staff to ensure adequate direction is provided regarding supply and demand requirementsWork closely with the assigned program staff to ensure all program deliverables are met satisfactorilyManage order demand within Costpoint or equivalent MRP systemEnsure adherence to all internal supply chain and operations processesParticipate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem‑solving meetingsOther related duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree with emphasis in supply chain managementMinimum of 20 years of production control, material planning and/or production scheduling experience which include five (5) years of managing DOD propulsion‑related programsMinimum of five (5) years of experience working production control and material planning for programs in the prototyping, design and development portion of the product life cycleExperience managing department of defense (DoD) programs for the U.S. GovernmentExperience across various ERP systems to include MRP, Costpoint, SAP, Oracle or similar toolsDirect experience in managing large SubcontractsExperience briefing program teams, executive management and customers on production plan status, risks, and futureAbility to multi‑task in a highly collaborative team environment while thinking critically to solve problems quickly and accurately particularly as related to exceptions in MRP, Bills of Material, material planning, purchase requisitions, purchase orders and ECOsProficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and overall knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project)Experience using and managing ERP/MRP systemsMust have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)Preferred QualificationsExperience with AS9100 and DCMA standardsDemonstrated expertise in Master Production SchedulingDemonstrated expertise in lean and six sigma principlesExperience working Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirementsFamiliarity and/or experience with Lean Enterprise Institute (or equivalent) principles involving manufacturing, quality, or supply chain managementExperience in using Integrated Program
