Our scope spans engineering, prototype builds, through full production, requiring teams that can move fast, adapt, and execute with precision.GTI Values: Safey & Quality & Customer Obsession & Speed & Agility.Position OverviewGTI Energy is seeking a highly analytical Materials Planner to support production planning, material readiness, and inventory execution across manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for aligning material availability with production schedules, monitoring shortages, analyzing demand signals, and driving proactive planning decisions to support operational performance. The Materials Planner will operate at the intersection of Supply Chain, Production Control, Procurement, and Manufacturing Operations, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support production flow and customer delivery requirements. The ideal candidate has strong analytical capability, ERP system experience, and a background supporting manufacturing, industrial, or engineered product environments.Key ResponsibilitiesMaterials Planning & Production SupportDevelop and maintain material plans aligned with production schedules and manufacturing demandEnsure material availability supports fabrication, assembly, electrical integration, and final build operationsMonitor production schedules, BOM requirements, and inventory levels to identify shortages or supply risksCoordinate with Procurement, Production Control, and Operations teams to resolve material constraintsSupport material readiness for new product launches, engineering changes, and production ramp activitiesDemand Analysis & Planning CoordinationAnalyze demand signals, production forecasts, and consumption trends to support planning decisionsReview MRP outputs and validate planning recommendations for accuracy and operational impactIdentify gaps between supply and demand and elevate risks proactivelySupport planning alignment across manufacturing schedules, supplier lead times, and inventory strategiesMaintain planning parameters and support continuous improvement of planning accuracyInventory Management & OptimizationMonitor inventory levels, excess inventory, shortages, and slow-moving materialsSupport inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining production continuityAnalyze inventory turns, usage trends, and replenishment performanceDrive improvements in material flow, inventory accuracy, and stock availabilitySupport cycle count reconciliation and inventory control activities where neededERP, Data Analysis & ReportingUtilize ERP systems to manage planning activities, material transactions, and production requirementsBuild and maintain reports, dashboards, and data analysis tools supporting operational visibilityAnalyze planning metrics including shortages, inventory turns, schedule attainment, and material availabilitySupport leadership reporting and KPI tracking for Supply Chain and Operations teamsIdentify data inconsistencies and drive corrective actions to improve system accuracyCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with Procurement, Production Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Warehouse teamsSupport communication between departments regarding material readiness, shortages, and schedule impactsAlign material planning priorities with operational goals and production milestonesParticipate in daily production meetings and planning reviewsContinuous Improvement & Problem SolvingSupport Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives related to material flow and planning efficiencyConduct Root Cause Analysis on recurring shortages, planning gaps, or inventory discrepanciesImprove planning processes, workflows, and reporting tools to increase operational efficiencyHelp standardize planning methods and materials management best practices across facilitiesRequirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Analytics, Engineering, or related field preferred3-7+ years of experience in Materials Planning, Production Planning, Supply Chain, Inventory Control, or related roleStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilityExperience working within manufacturing, industrial, or engineered product environmentsStrong ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar platforms)Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysisAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environmentStrong communication and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting fabrication, assembly, electrical integration, or engineered-to-order manufacturing operationsFamiliarity with MRP systems, production scheduling, and inventory optimization strategiesExperience with Supply Chain KPIs including inventory turns, on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and forecast accuracyAPICS / CPIM certification preferredExperience with Power BI, SQL, or data visualization tools preferredExperience supporting high-growth manufacturing operations preferredBenefits & PerksGTI Energy offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support employees and their families while providing long-term career growth opportunities within a fast-growing manufacturing organization.
