Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Mechanical Designer in Salt Lake City, UT to create detailed construction drawings and support engineering teams on commercial HVAC projects.

Impact

• Produce accurate construction documents that enable efficient field installation

• Support project delivery through effective coordination and clash detection

• Enhance design quality with attention to detail and constructability

• Contribute to BIM workflows that improve project outcomes and reduce rework

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD

• Create HVAC layouts, equipment details, and piping/ductwork routing

• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines

• Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues using Navisworks

• Prepare equipment schedules, specifications, and material lists

• Assist engineers with load calculations and equipment selection

• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction

• Maintain drawing standards and quality control procedures

Requirements

Must-Haves

• 3+ years of mechanical design experience in commercial construction

• Proficiency with Revit MEP and AutoCAD

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, and piping design

• Experience with BIM coordination and 3D modeling

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice-to-Haves

• Associate degree in CAD, Mechanical Design, or related field

• Navisworks and BIM 360 experience

• Knowledge of mechanical codes and design standards

• Experience with prefabrication coordination
