We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Technician - OCU - Technical - 3x12 AM Shift to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact inthe following ways:
Drive product quality, performance, and reliability by executing engine, component, system, and controls testing that validates designs and supports the development of high-performing products.
Generate data-driven insights and recommendations by configuring data acquisition systems, analyzing test results, developing analysis tools, and translating findings into actionable engineering decisions.
Lead comprehensive test execution activities by designing test plans, configuring test programs, conducting testing, documenting results, and delivering clear conclusions and recommendations.
Diagnose and resolve technical challenges by identifying root causes of engine, component, system, control, and test cell issues and implementing effective corrective actions to keep projects moving forward.
Support product development through hands-on technical expertise by building, instrumenting, inspecting, measuring, modifying, and validating engines and components throughout the testing lifecycle.
Improve operational efficiency and engineering processes by leading continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining quality procedures, participating in audits, and implementing best practices that enhance testing effectiveness.
Strengthen cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing by working closely with engineers, suppliers, customers, technicians, and apprentices to align priorities, solve problems, and develop team capability.
Ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality test operations by adhering to safety standards, protecting confidential information, coordinating testing activities, and maintaining accurate documentation that supports successful project outcomes.

Manage complex technical challenges with confidence by interpreting test requirements, troubleshooting equipment and systems, and making sound decisions in fast-paced and demanding environments.
Drive results with initiative and accountability by taking ownership of testing activities, adapting to new challenges, meeting commitments, and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
Support operational excellence through maintenance and data quality by applying preventive and predictive maintenance practices, ensuring equipment readiness, and maintaining high standards of data integrity.
