    Job Title: Mechanical Technician IV
    Location: US - WA - Redmond


    Job Description:

    • We are looking for a Prototype Assembly Technician specializing in optical system assembly and custom tool operation.
    • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in opto-mechanical and electrical assembly techniques (soldering, lamination, machining) and has a good attention to organization and cleanliness.
    • The ideal candidate should be extremely motivated and able to work independently and with ambiguity.
    • Experience in optical, mechanical and electrical testing is a plus
    Responsibilities
    • Lamination and processing of optical assemblies for prototypes Hands on active alignment of optical modules used in AR devices
    • Careful hand assembly work and part processing Rework of prototypes and components, both mechanically and electrically
    • Operating custom calibration and assembly equipment
    • Writing documentation and reports relating to assembly practices and opto-mechanical test data
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Mechanical background and aptitude
    • 5+ years of experience in a related technical field
    • BS in ME, optics or related technical field Experience in R&D lab for product development Rapid prototyping (multi-disciplinary collection of skills)
    • Laser safety experience
    • Calibration experience (camera based sensors) Experience authoring SOPs for assembly and test
    • Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with clean room procedures and equipment
    • Optical metrology experience Prior work in AR/VR or optical consumer products


    Mandatory Skills

    Mechanical background and aptitude 5+ years of experience in a related technical field
