Description
Join the welcoming team at the Springfield YMCA! We are seeking a friendly, energetic full-time Membership Representative. This position will include various shifts during the week and the weekends.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
2. Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
3. Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
4. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
5. Follows and applies all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures dealing with member services. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
6. Opens, maintains and closes cash drawer for membership sales in an accurate manner.
7. Enters/updates member information into computer system and maintains member files.
8. May monitor the locker rooms as required.
9. Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
10. Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
11. Any other duties deemed necessary to ensure the success of the Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum age of 18.
2. Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED, and First Aid within 60 days of hire.
3. Complete required trainings.
4. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
6. Basic knowledge of computers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Able to lift and carry 15-50 lbs.
2. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position.
3. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
4. Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assist members, guests, and staff to ensure safety.
