Role Overview
Mitsubishi Power in Savannah, Georgia is seeking a Maintenance Engineer - Electical. This role is responsible for the engineering, reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of high-speed balancing equipment and supporting facility infrastructure. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of balance cells, test equipment, utilities, and facility systems while supporting production, quality, and customer requirements. The engineer will lead troubleshooting efforts, capital projects, equipment upgrades, preventive maintenance strategies, and contractor coordination to maximize uptime and operational performance. Responsibilities align with facility engineering, reliability management, project execution, compliance, utility management, and continuous improvement functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering and technical support for high-speed balancing machines, test cells, drive systems, instrumentation, controls, and supporting facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action initiatives for equipment, process, and facility issues to improve reliability, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs while utilizing CMMS systems to manage work orders, asset histories, maintenance plans, and reliability metrics.
  • Monitor equipment health, performance data, and asset reliability to identify improvement opportunities, enhance equipment availability, and support critical spare parts strategies.
  • Support and maintain facility systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems, ensuring sufficient utility capacity and operational reliability.
  • Lead facility, equipment, and infrastructure improvement projects from concept through commissioning, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, contractor coordination, installation, and startup activities.
  • Develop engineering specifications, standards, technical documentation, and project justifications while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering, safety, and building standards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, fire protection, and facility safety requirements through risk assessments, lockout/tagout (LOTO) programs, machine safety reviews, audits, inspections, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project and maintenance activities are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, operational efficiency, quality, and cost reduction through data analysis, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline required.
  • 3 7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, test facilities, rotating equipment, or industrial operations.
  • Experience supporting high-speed rotating equipment, balancing systems, test stands, turbines, compressors, motors, or similar systems preferred.
  • Experience with maintenance and reliability engineering practices preferred.
  • Understanding of vibration analysis, rotor dynamics, balancing principles, and rotating equipment reliability.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with PLCs, instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
  • Proficiency with CMMS, Microsoft Office, and engineering software tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
