Estimator/Planner - Aircraft parts - WA- 1313

We have some long term Estimator/Planner positions staring soon working on a large aircraft project. They are seeking Estimators/Planners. Experience with previous aircraft parts estimation and procurement preferred. These are either long term contract or direct openings.

Full Job Description

We are looking for a diligent Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for aerospace request for quotes by gathering material, processing and hardware costs with suppliers and internally. Your will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. You must be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons. The goal is to provide detailed RFQs so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the project/program and its requirements
  • Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
  • Gather first-hand information from suppliers and internal customers
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
  • Use excel software and Job Boss for compiling accurate cost estimates and generating manufacturing planning once awarded contracts
  • Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
  • Perform risk analysis with Plant Manager and other internal parties
  • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)
  • Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
  • Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)

Skills

  • Proven experience as estimator or similar position (aerospace highly desired)
  • In depth knowledge of aerospace requirements
  • Strong math and attention to detail with an analytical mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
  • Thoroughness and reliability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good attitude with good interpersonal skills and being used to a manufacturing environment
