Description

NET DeveloperContract Length: 10 months with the possibility of extending based on project need. Candidates must reside in the Richmond metropolitan areaHybrid ScheduleThe .NET Developer will support the modernization of an enterprise tolling transaction platform undergoing a partial rewrite using microservices and modularization. The developer will work within an Agile/Scrum team and contribute to the development of backend services and application components using.NET Core and C#. This role collaborates with solution architects, cloud engineers, SQL developers, API developers, and testers and reports to the Development Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain .NET Core backend services and APIs.Collaborate with SQL developers to implement efficient data access patterns.Contribute to modernization of the tolling platform using microservices and modular architecture.Develop new application features and enhance existing functionalities.Participate in performance optimization efforts across application layers.Integrate with Azure-based components and cloud services.Support CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps or GitHub pipelines.Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver sprint commitments.Required Skills7+ years of experience developing applications using.NET Core and C#.Experience building REST APIs and microservices.Experience consuming and integrating with SQL Server on Azure VM environments.Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices.Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub for CI/CD pipelines.Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.Experience integrating backend systems with ETL pipelines such as SSIS or Databricks.Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.Desired SkillsExperience with Terraform or other IaC tools.Familiarity with domain-driven design and microservices.Experience with distributed systems or high-availability environments.Understanding of tolling or transportation systems (preferred but not required).
