The sales representative will be primarily focused on sales of Aquatic Housing Systems for Aquaneering. This effort will involve phone consultations, qualifying viable leads, customer needs evaluations and visits. Other efforts will include closing sales with quotations prepared and approved by the Aquaneering home inside sales team, project liaison, and follow up with product training and technical support. The leads for sales will be obtained by the sales representative's outreach efforts, from trade show leads, from speaking engagements, and from the corporate headquarters. Sales Rep's efforts will involve actively seeking new leads by consistent community outreach, including calling qualified decision makers, exploratory emailing, attending Aquatic Lab Users meetings, and additional novel outreach methods developed by sales rep with home office input.
The sales rep will focus primarily on the all regions of the US and Canada as defined in the Sales Representative Expectations Sheet. In addition to the this outreach, the sales rep will be expected to assist with sales support tasks for all regions while in the corporate office, such as creating quotations, sales orders, answering phones, and other sales activities.
Participation in several trade shows and industry professional meetings is required as outlined on the customized Expectations Sheet which is prepared for each territory. In addition to initial formal sales training as part of the orientation period, the rep will also participate in one or more company sales training meetings each year. The sales rep will maintain regular office hours when not traveling.
The sales representative will have excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills to both approach and follow-up with targeted potential customers. Record keeping is a mandatory part of the position for customer contact history, progress reports and expense reporting. Prior experience with a CRM software such as Pipeline Deals is preferred.
Travel is required and outlined on the Expectations Sheet. Although some travel should be expected during the training period, it may be more limited than the stated expectation. The Sales Rep should expect to travel a minimum of 75% to call on various clients and job sites in the North American Region, as well as to trade shows, sales meetings, and trainings. Candidate must have the ability to travel without assistance including but not limited to airlines, busses, taxis, rental cars, and must have a clean driving record. Candidate must be able to stand or sit for extended periods such as for long duration flights or tradeshows. Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
The candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business, Science, Biology, Aquaculture or Communications. Experience in aquatic husbandry or aquacultural systems is highly preferred. The ideal candidate should be comfortable presenting in front of groups and have excellent speaking skills. The sales rep will be expected to sign a confidentiality /non-compete agreement.

HOURS: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday. These hours are flexible based on travel schedule, but a minimum 40-hour per week is expected. Regular office hours are to be maintained when not traveling.
SALARY: Base salary (BOE) plus commissions, Automobile Mileage and Travel Expense Reimbursement. Cell phone and Laptop provided.
