What is the role about?Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Measurement & Controls Specialist is a key member of the Sales Team. In the Measurement & Controls Specialist role, the individual is responsible for driving customer sales and customer satisfaction through direct contact, phone, or other electronic communications. Sales functions include but are not limited to sales growth activities, territory management, customer activities, prospecting for new customers, contract/pricing negotiations, product presentation, inventory management, sales forecasting, account planning, and closing sales. The individual will be placed in an established account with annual goals to achieve sales and margin growth objectives.Which tasks will you perform?Ability to manage a territory with a growth outlook and forecast analysisCustomer visits and offsite work activities to drive sales in assigned territoryTrack records of sales success via software platformsProduct knowledge supplier partners (Endress + Hauser, Draeger Gas Detection, Pepperl + Fuchs, Brooks, Fluke Process and Samson Controls), application expertise, and pricing structuresAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, negotiate, and manage sales planningOutbound sales initiatives and activities include cold calling and working with marketingManage territory and customer base with small business owner mindsetWork with vendor partnersPerform other duties as assignedWhat do we expect from you?You will have (required):Bachelors degree, technical degree, or equivalent combination of skills and experience3 years' experience in salesKnowledge of Microsoft Office; Ability to learn business/distribution software package; 2 years of experience utilizing ERP systemsPhysical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly standing and moving up to 8 hours a dayMust have a clean and valid driver's licenseYou may have (preferred):Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in fast-paced, continuously evolving, and at times ambiguous environmentAbility to communicate well with all levels of the organization; excellent presentation skills and ability to boil down large datasets into actionable information; strong interpersonal and customer service skillsBackground in sales training and experience with process control instruments (level, flow, pressure, temperature, liquid & gas analysis, system components, valves, and controls)The Kendall Group is an equal opportunity employer.
