Summary: 

• Lays out, assembles, pre-fits, and bonds a variety of metal, composite, and laminate fabrications, assemblies, parts, skins, and equipment.

• Follows engineering and manufacturing specifications and orders to determine parts to be bonded and the temperature and pressure required.

• Cuts parts or materials to size for composite and metal assemblies.

• Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete the bonding cycle.

• Sands, burrs, and smoothes over areas of composite and metal assemblies.

• Applies sealing resins to cut or exposed edges of composite parts.

• Performs complicated rework or repair on composite and metal assemblies.

• Utilizes lay-up tools including optical and hard tools in fabrication of composite and metal assemblies.

• Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments.

• Uses and controls solvents and cleaning solutions in preparation of details, tools, and assemblies for bonding and paint per established procedures.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Experience in composite manufacturing and rework of composite parts.

• Experience with composite and fiberglass repairs.

• Experience operating autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens for composite bonding.

• Experience with sanding, burring, and smoothing composite parts.

• Experience applying sealing resins and potting resins to composite parts.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, and work instructions.

• Ability to use precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics.

• Experience using and controlling solvents and cleaning solutions for bonding and paint preparation.

• Preferred: Prior autobody repair or fiberglass boat manufacturing or repair experience.
