Description
Pipe Foreman - Heavy Civil Construction Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pipe Foreman to lead underground utility crews on heavy civil construction projects. The Pipe Foreman is responsible for overseeing the installation of storm, sanitary sewer, and water main systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of underground utility construction, crew management, and job site safety.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of pipe crews on heavy civil construction projects.
Read and interpret blueprints, utility plans, grades, and specifications.
Oversee the installation of storm drain, sanitary sewer, water main, and related underground utilities.
Plan daily work activities and ensure crews have the necessary equipment, materials, and tools.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, survey crews, inspectors, subcontractors, and utility companies.
Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Monitor production, quality, and project schedules to meet deadlines.
Verify pipe elevations, line and grade, and proper installation techniques.
Train, mentor, and develop pipe layers, equipment operators, and laborers.
Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Maintain accurate daily reports, production logs, and time records.
Identify and resolve field issues while minimizing project delays.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in underground utility construction with at least 2 years in a leadership or foreman role.
Strong knowledge of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and utility installation.

Experience working with excavators, loaders, trench boxes, laser levels, and other utility construction equipment.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Thorough understanding of OSHA excavation and trench safety requirements.
bility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
OSHA 30 certification is preferred but not required.
