    Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Pipefitters 2nd/3rd Class for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.

    Additional hourly PD is 22.50 for those that live over 75 miles with valid utility bill. This new rate will require a minimum of 2 hours worked daily and is capped at 8 hours maximum per day. There is NO differentiation for Premium or No Premium.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)

    • 2-3 yrs of marine, industrial or petro-chemical pipefitting experience
    • Basic math, reading and comprehension skills.
    • Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves.
    • Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements.
    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    A 2nd or 3rd class Pipefitter, also referred to as a Journeyman Pipefitter, is responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fittings, utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawing, arrangements and blue prints. Shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with most every position in the shipyard, a Pipefitter may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. We stress the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    High School diploma or equivalent. School must be accredited.

    WORK HOURS

    Full-Time 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift
