Job Overview
Specialized Recruiting Group is partnering with a leading local manufacturing organization to identify a Plant Cost Accounting Manager to join their team. This key position is responsible for overseeing plant-level cost accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining effective internal controls, and providing financial insight to support operational and business decisions.
The Plant Cost Accounting Manager will serve as a financial partner to plant leadership, overseeing cost accounting processes, inventory valuation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role works closely with operations, corporate finance, and system support teams to ensure accurate financial information, improve processes, and support overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage plant-level cost accounting activities, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Maintain and evaluate internal controls to ensure financial processes are properly designed and operating effectively.
Oversee the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of financial transactions generated within the production facility.
Ensure accurate inventory valuation, reporting, and reconciliation processes.
Serve as the primary JDE system liaison for plant financial operations and user support.
Partner with plant leadership and the Regional Controller on monthly reporting, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and financial planning activities.
Provide financial support for cost control initiatives and operational improvement efforts.
Monitor capital expenditures and ensure compliance with company approval processes and spending guidelines.
Coordinate inventory cycle counts and reconciliation activities with warehouse and maintenance teams.
Maintain manufacturing master data, including bills of materials (BOMs), routings, work centers, warehouse information, and item master records.
Prepare and analyze recurring financial reports, including operational reports, inventory sub-ledgers, SOX compliance reporting, inventory movements, and plant performance updates.
Support financial planning and reporting systems, including Hyperion Planning and HFM.
Utilize DAS reporting tools to extract data from JDE and develop scheduled reports for plant and business users.
Provide inventory and production data to support operational initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Monitor and maintain accurate product costing information at the plant and cost center levels.
Collaborate with DSI resources, corporate teams, and plant users to support system functionality, enhancements, and issue resolution.
Support Longview integration and ongoing system processes at the plant level.
Complete quarterly financial accuracy certifications and assist with audit-related requirements.
Promote a strong food safety culture by following all established food safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Minimum of three years of accounting or financial management experience.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, manufacturing accounting practices, and financial reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a manufacturing or plant finance environment.
Experience with ERP systems and inventory management processes.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to partner effectively with operations teams.
