    Description

    Location: Apizza Alimentari, Fayetteville, New York

    Job Type: Full-Time | Reports To: Executive Chef

    Position Summary: The Prep Cook supports daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, stocking stations, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Responsibilities include washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients, performing basic cooking tasks, and assisting kitchen leadership in ensuring all stations are ready for service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare ingredients according to prep lists including washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring.
    • Set up workstations with required ingredients, tools, and equipment for efficient service.
    • Label, store, and organize food items in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas.
    • Assist with cooking preparation such as dough preparation, charcuterie, and other kitchen tasks.
    • Maintain kitchen cleanliness by sanitizing surfaces, washing utensils, cleaning equipment, and removing trash.
    • Assist with inventory organization and ensure proper labeling and food rotation.

    Essential Skills

    • Knife skills and ability to safely use kitchen equipment.
    • Strong organization and ability to follow instructions.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 lbs.
    • Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
    • Teamwork and clear communication with kitchen staff.
    • Dependability and punctuality.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices required.
    • Food handler certification preferred.
    • Culinary training or comparable kitchen experience preferred.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
