Job DescriptionLooking for an opportunity to make an impact?At Leidos, we deliver innovative solutions through the efforts of our diverse and talented people who are dedicated to our customers' success.Leidos' Defense Systems Manufacturing is seeking a Production Control Planner/Scheduler III to join our diverse team that is standardizing production processes across multiple sites in North Alabama.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organized Production Control professional – to manage and lead production control operations at our Electronics Facility. This role provides leadership and expertise in production control, scheduling, and manufacturing orders to achieve complex program requirements.Leidos Defense Systems Sector / Manufacturing provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead production planning activities across multiple projects, balancing capacity, materials, and schedule requirements.Monitor and control work order execution, proactively resolving shortages, engineering changes, and priority conflicts.Interpret, prioritize, and execute MRP action messages to adjust procurement, rescheduling, and work order release decisions.Develop and maintain production schedules, Line of Balance (LOB) charts, and milestone tracking.Provide production control expertise in cross‑functional meetings with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.Ensure ERP system accuracy (Deltek Costpoint) for all assigned programs, including work order, WIP, and inventory management.Generate reports, dashboards, and status updates for leadership and program stakeholders.Mentor and guide Production Control Planner I/II team members, providing training and knowledge sharing.Support continuous improvement initiatives for planning processes, KPIs, and reporting tools.Ensure compliance with company policies, AS9100 standards, and government regulations.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree with 4‑8 years of prior relevant work experience or a Master's degree with 2‑6 years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma with 10 years of experience will be considered.Minimum 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or warehousing with a degree. Six years without a degree.Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Deltek Costpoint).Experience interpreting and executing MRP action messages in an ERP system.Demonstrated success in managing production schedules and resolving complex issues in a defense or aerospace environment.Proven ability to work across functions and influence outcomes in a matrixed environment.U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.Must be a or willing to relocate to the Huntsville / North Alabama area.This posting is for multiple opportunities ranging in years of experience.
