The Robert R. Jones Public Library is seeking a creative, energetic, and community-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Programming Assistant.Our library is known for dynamic, engaging programs that draw participants from across the region. We are looking for someone who is excited to contribute to that momentum—someone who enjoys working with people of all ages, brings fresh ideas to the table, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Position OverviewThe Programming Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of programs and services for children, teens, and adults. This position also plays an important role in providing excellent customer service and assisting with daily library operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and present engaging programs and outreach services for all agesCollaborate with staff to develop new and innovative programming ideasPromote library services through community engagement and outreachAssist patrons with library services, technology, and general inquiriesSupport daily operations including circulation, shelving, and maintaining collectionsCreate displays, signage, and welcoming spaces within the libraryProvide instruction and support for digital literacy and technology useBuild positive relationships with patrons and community partnersEvaluate program effectiveness and adapt to community needsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious library or programming experience preferredStrong customer service and communication skillsComfort with technology and ability to assist others with digital toolsAbility to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and collaborativelyCreativity, flexibility, and attention to detailSchedule & Compensation16–20 hours per weekEvening and weekend availability required$15.00/hour during 90-day probationary period$16.15/hour after successful completion of probation, with potential annual increasesWhy Join Our Team?A supportive, collaborative, and fun work environmentOpportunities for creativity and innovation in programmingThe chance to make a meaningful impact in the communityA library culture that values connection, learning, and growthRobert R.
