    Description

    The Opportunity

    This position offers a hybrid work model with flexibility for a combination of in-office and remote work. You will lead as a technical expert in substation design, focusing on distribution, sub-transmission, and transmission voltage levels. Your role will involve producing electrical design deliverables, including both protection and control systems, as well as physical design. You will participate in project management activities, including scheduling and resource planning. Interaction with clients, vendors, and subcontractors is a core part of the role, along with overseeing quality assurance and mentoring junior team members.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Apply knowledge of relevant design guides, standards, engineering codes, and company procedures.
    • Ensure quality compliance and lead continuous improvement efforts.
    • Guide junior engineers and oversee complex deliverables.
    • Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality metrics.
    • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Communicate key client interests to team members.
    • Participate in business development and innovation efforts.
    • Serve as a technical specialist for engineering projects.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
    • 5+ years of relevant experience.
    • Ability to meet pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screenings.
    Preferred Skills
    • Experience in substation design, both physical and protection & controls (P&C).
    • Leadership in project management, mentoring, and client coordination.
    • Quality assurance/control experience in substation projects.
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
    • Proficiency in written communication, conflict management, and team building.
    • Knowledge of engineering principles and standards within your discipline.
