Well-established contractor seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) for renovation/construction projects in the Salem, VA area. Looking for someone who understands government-style QC processes, documentation, inspections, and field coordination.
This role is ideal for candidates with USACE, NAVFAC, VA, municipal, healthcare, higher education, or commercial renovation experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement the project Quality Control Program
- Conduct Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up inspections (Three Phases of Control)
- Coordinate with Superintendent, subcontractors, and project team
- Maintain QC documentation, reports, punch lists, and testing logs
- Review submittals, shop drawings, and specifications
- Ensure work complies with project plans, specs, and safety requirements
- Lead QC meetings and assist with project closeout inspections
- Track deficiencies and corrective actions
Qualifications:
- 5–10+ years of construction experience
- Experience as QCM, Superintendent, Inspector, or Project Engineer
- Strong understanding of commercial construction and/or federal construction standards
- Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 safety requirements preferred
- Comfortable reading plans/specifications and managing documentation
- Renovation experience highly preferred
Preferred Certifications:
- USACE CQM Certification (required or ability to obtain quickly)
- OSHA 30
- EM 385 experience preferred
