Quality Control Specialist Responsible for carrying out all quality control activities within the Brake Shoe Fabrication (Semac) Department and the CNC Department. Responsibilities include inspection, examination, testing, sorting, in-process and final audits. Ability to validate conformance to all Brunner and Customer SpecificationsHourly Pay Range: $19.00 - $22.35 (add $0.90 for 2nd shift)Essential Functions:Maintain Environmental, Health, & Safety standards in the workplaceRead and understand all procedures and work instructions necessary for properly carrying out the requirements of this positionPerform first piece, in-process, and final audit inspection of product from all stages of manufacture or processing within the Semac / CNC DepartmentMeasure all applicable blueprint requirements, using variety of instruments, such as, but not limited to snap gauges, mics, calipers, pin gauges, profilometer and height gaugesCompare material with part prints, engineering standards, and reference samples (or photos) to ensure all product is complete and correct to specificationFill out all required check sheets and inspection recordsProperly identify (tag) and segregate material found to be nonconformingCommunicate at all levels in the QA Department including Department Manager, Supervisors and OperatorsAssist in employee trainingProvide troubleshooting assistance to manufacturing and engineeringKeep assigned work area and equipment clean and orderlyFollow all documented safety procedures and postingsProvide temporary QA support to other manufacturing departments or shifts as necessaryEducation and Training:High school diploma or GEDOne-year work related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum Qualifications:Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writingAbility to read and understand part prints and engineering specificationsBasic math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimalsAbility to work with standard measuring systemsFamiliar with the use and proper care of both precision and non-precision measuring toolsAbility to work in a team environment, take directions from supervisor(s) and also work with minimal or no supervision when requiredPhysical Demands:Ability to stand continuously for 8 12 hoursAbility to twist, bend and lift repetitivelyAbility to lift up to 12 pounds repetitivelyAbility to lift up to 25 pounds occasionallyGood eye/hand coordination and good motor skillsGood close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perceptionEnvironmental Conditions:Exposure to loud noiseExposure to hot and humid conditionsOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particlesHearing protection and eye protection is required at all times in all production and assembly areasSteel toe boots with metatarsals are required at all timesWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
