Job Location: Lexington, NC 27262Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $25.00 - $29.00 HourlyJob Category: Admin - ClericalOverview Piedmont Candy Company is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician II to support our 2nd shift production team. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, make sound decisions on the production floor, and uphold the highest food safety and quality standards.This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with FDA, BRC, and internal quality standards, while also supporting sanitation verification and training processes.Key Responsibilities Perform in-process quality checks (weights, metal detection, packaging, labeling, product specs)Monitor and enforce GMPs and food safety standards on the production floorVerify sanitation and cleaning processes are completed correctly prior to and during productionConduct pre-operational inspections and allergen control verificationsReview and complete production and quality documentation for accuracySupport corrective actions, investigations, and traceability exercisesServe as a resource to production employees on food safety and quality expectationsIndependently make decisions and escape issues when neededVerify and sign off on new hire training related to quality and food safetyWhat We're Looking For 2+ years of QA or production experience in food manufacturing (preferred)Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety standardsAbility to work independently on 2nd shift with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracyComfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferred Qualifications Experience in a BRC or FDA-regulated facilityExperience with sanitation verification and pre-op inspectionsInterest in or willingness to obtain PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certificationSchedule 2nd Shift position (hours based on production needs)Why Join Us Opportunity to take ownership of quality on your shiftExposure to food safety systems, audits, and regulatory standardsGrowth opportunity into advanced quality or food safety roles (including PCQI certification)Team-focused, collaborative environment#J-18808-Ljbffr
