Title: Quality Assurance Technician Lead 1 (2nd Shift)Salary Range: $19.93Status: Non-ExemptDays/Shifts: 2nd ShiftLocation: Bessemer City, NCReports To: Quality Assurance ManagerGeneral Description / Primary PurposeResponsible for ensuring that all food quality processes align with the company's compliance with food safety standards.Major Responsibilities and Tasks / Duties of the PositionProvide production support in all aspects of the company's quality process.Perform quality checks including bag seal, oxygen level, proportions, bag weight, raw materials check, and finished goods check.Perform CCP verifications as necessary.Receive raw materials and ingredients per SOP (Masterpack, film, and veg ingredients).Check equipment to verify accuracy.Maintain reports and system log entries.Complete food safety checks to meet all critical control points.Review CCP paperwork at the end of shift.Place and remove "Hold" statuses as required for raw, in-process, and finished goods.Maintain HOLD, foreign object, and other database entries as needed.Perform elevated temperature (EMP) swabs.Direct QA technicians and responsibilities.Monitor breaks and lunches.Train new employees.Conduct tailgates and lead exercise routines at start of shift.Receive raw material trailers and inspect the materials to ensure they meet standards.Review and maintain equipment provided by the facility.Calibrate equipment.Proficient in handling and running both VA and RTE lines.Perform shelf‑life evaluation and data entry.Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.Job Specific CompetenciesExperience: Previous experience in a food processing facility is preferred but not required. A High School Diploma is necessary.Skills: Good oral communication skills are required.Additional: Hands‑on ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented food processing environment is essential. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision, maintain regular attendance, follow directions, interact well with coworkers, and understand and follow posted work rules and procedures. Flexibility to work any shift based on workload demands is required.Physical RequirementsWork is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34°F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved footwear and protective equipment. Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. unassisted for up to one‑third of the workday and 6 lbs. overhead as job demands dictate. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required. Moving machinery, including conveyors and forklifts, will be in operation in the immediate area.
