Description

Applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment with Eversource will not be considered.Role and Scope of PositionSupports the implementation of the Eversource Quality Control (QC) program as it relates to construction, maintenance, meter service, leak survey, corrosion, damage prevention, LNG and I&R activities at Eversource Gas. Ensures that work and activities are performed in accordance with federal, state, and company construction standards and procedures and all safety rules and standards established by the Company and required by law. The QC Specialist has authority to direct and stop work to ensure compliance with all requirements, and is an authorized company representative on job sites.Essential FunctionsEnsures safe work practices according to the Company's Health and Safety Handbook and Contractor Safety Manual.Ensures all work activities comply with Gas Distribution construction standards and operating procedures; verifies qualified personnel.Verifies work packages are in order with appropriate work procedures, mark‑out ticket, and mapping information.Monitors resources associated with the Company's re‑dig program.Supports onboarding of contractor crews and verifies the Operator Qualification Plan is followed.Identifies non‑compliant conditions and recommends corrective action.Responsible for accurate documentation of inspection results.Responsible for the Company's gas quality control programs.Performs activities contributing to the annual gas inspection plan, including random inspections and re‑dig program activities.Will be assigned an ERP role and support Gas or Electric during ERP or Work Continuation events as required.Technical Knowledge, Skills, Education, Licenses and CertificationsTechnical Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of gas construction and maintenance standards, work practices and procedures, and safety requirements.Knowledge of assessments and audits.Knowledge and use of gas business information and office automation.Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.Familiar with MS Office suite and adaptable to other PC‑based software tools.Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, related discipline or equivalent experience.Experience:Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in gas distribution, utility or technical experience preferred.Licenses & Certifications:Expected to become Eversource Operator Qualified.Working ConditionsPosition categorized as safety‑sensitive; subject to pre‑assignment and random drug testing.Work both in an office environment and in the field for audits, training and problem resolution.Physical demands: sit, walk, use hands, lift up to 15 lbs; required vision abilities include close vision.Exposure to explosive gas, high‑noise levels, traffic and construction site hazards.Must be available for emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA/CT/NH.Mental AspectsAnalyzing, planning, organizing, evaluating, and documenting.Works in a high‑pressure environment with multiple simultaneous activities and tight deadlines.CompetenciesBuild trusting relationshipsManage and develop peopleFoster teamwork and cross‑functional collaborationLead changeCommunicate strategic visionCreate an engaged workforceFocus on the customerTake ownership & accountabilityCompensation and BenefitsEversource offers a competitive total rewards program.
