Description
Rail Fabricator
We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Fabricator to join our miscellaneous metals team. This role is ideal for a candidate with extensive experience fabricating and assembling complex railing systems with a strong focus on quality, precision, and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Fabricate and assemble railings including stairs, guardrails, handrails, ornamental rails, etc.
Interpret shop drawings, field measurements, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication
Perform layout, cutting, fitting, welding, and finishing of various metals (steel, stainless, aluminum)
Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications
Collaborate with shop supervisors, project managers, and detailers to resolve fabrication challenges
Maintain production schedules and communicate delays or issues proactively
Operate shop equipment safely and efficiently (saws, welders, grinders, etc.)
Assist with training and mentoring less experienced fabricators as needed
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols
Qualifications:
7–10+ years of experience in miscellaneous metals fabrication, with a strong focus on railings
Proven ability to fabricate complex and custom railing systems independently
Strong knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG; stainless/aluminum experience preferred)
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to railing systems
High attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (trade school preferred but not required)
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical shop work (standing, bending, lifting)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check
