Position Overview:
The Public Health Nurse will independently provide professional nursing care in clinic, mobile unit, and community-based settings. This role supports public health initiatives including opioid abatement, health education, case management, prevention services, and community partnerships.
Responsibilities Include:
• Conduct nursing assessments and develop care plans
• Provide patient education and case management
• Support harm reduction and community outreach programs
• Coordinate mobile unit events and operations
• Assist with public health initiatives and emergency response efforts
• Maintain accurate documentation and data collection
Qualifications:
• Active RN License in Virginia or Compact State
• Current BLS/CPR Certification
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Willingness to travel locally and work occasional evenings/weekends
Preferred Experience:
• Public health or community health nursing
• Harm reduction or substance use disorder programs
• Case management or program coordination
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
