A remote Design Quality Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time, direct position. Great matching candidates, either local or remote, will need a Bachelor"s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline, and 10-15 years of applicable experience. You will be responsible for acting as a critical quality gate, reviewing designs, verifying geometry, and confirming that deliverables meet contractual, company, and program requirements.
Job Duties:
* Review complex 3D models/2D drawings of production detail parts, assemblies, installations, and sub-systems for rotorcraft design in both static airframe and dynamic environments.
* Review engineering documentation including bill of materials, trade studies, and technical evaluations.
* Successfully operate in team environment by coordinating with both internal teams and external customers at all times.
* Demonstrate ability to accurately receive/interpret/extrapolate engineering direction, whether verbal or written.
* Provide and maintain synchronization across all applicable engineering disciplines (e.g. mechanical design, electrical design, structural/thermal analysis, manufacturing, avionics, etc.), both internally and externally.
* Successfully operate within confines of key performance indexes such as project schedule.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor"s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
* 10-15 years of engineering design or design checking or quality assurance experience with a strong CAD focus, preferably on advanced aerospace programs
* Proficient user of CATIA v5/v6/3DX modeling software
* Proficient in use of ANSI/ASME Y14.1 design and drafting standards
* In-depth knowledge of industry-standard specifications, tools, and procedures
* Able to accurately generate and interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) schemes per ASME Y14.5
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skill with ability to accomplish assignments in either independent or in team-setting
* Proven ability to thrive in fast paced, deadline driven team settings.
* U.S. Citizen required
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Prior experience working with Sikorsky products and software
* Composites modeling (CPD) experience
* Model-Based Definition (MBD) experience
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $93,600 to $114,400 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
