    OverviewNeighborly is an ethically sourced, design-driven shop offering home goods, artwork, and gifts for urban Midwesterners. Neighborly sources many of its products from small, independent craftspeople and takes care to find products that fit our aesthetic, are affordable and functional. It began in 2012 and currently operates two brick and mortar locations in Wicker Park and Lincoln Square, as well as a seasonal mini-shop on the Chicago Riverwalk. It is local and woman owned. Please visit our About and Mission pages to learn more about Neighborly.LocationLincoln Square Location Manager (Full-time: 32-40 hrs/wk) at 4710 N Lincoln Ave.ResponsibilitiesLead the retail team at the Lincoln Square location, maintain organized shop appearance, and uphold visual merchandising and cleaning standards while keeping the customer experience front of mind.Represent Neighborly within the Lincoln Square community and act as an ambassador for over 200 independent makers and small businesses.Collaborate with the retail team to deliver exceptional customer service and train staff on sales techniques.Assist with daily operations, including standard operating procedures, inventory, merchandising, and housekeeping.Manage and support retail assistants, set expectations, coach, and address performance issues; celebrate successes and provide constructive feedback.Adhere to merchandising guidelines, adjust product placement, and coordinate with the Retail Director or Visual Merchandiser on opportunities for improvement.Monitor inventory and staffing levels; coordinate with Retail Director, Owner, or Buyer to meet business needs; assist with receiving new product and inventory transfers; monitor e-commerce orders when applicable.Maintain open communication with the shop Owner and Retail Director regarding daily happenings, inventory needs, and staff issues; contribute ideas to improve the business.Support community outreach to stay active in Chicago's creative scene and uplift local makers and artists.Qualifications5+ years of retail experience with 1+ year in a management role, preferably at a small business.Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to engage customers warmly and naturally.Experience in development and management of a retail team, including coaching and feedback to meet operational standards and customer service goals.Ambition and initiative to support all areas of the business (employee management, customer service, merchandising, inventory management, problem solving).Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and excel during high-traffic times while remaining calm and purposeful.Physical ability to be on your feet most of the day and to lift/carry boxes up to 25 lbs frequently.Interest in independently made products and/or the arts with an eye for style trends and modern design.CompensationSalary TBD, commensurate with experienceAnnual bonus based on company performance64-80 hours PTO/year plus floating holidaysHealthcare Premium Reimbursement ArrangementEmployee discount on all merchandiseTo ApplyPlease no calls or drop-ins.
