Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong experience testing native macOS applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated and manual test frameworks to ensure the quality, performance, reliability, and user experience of enterprise-grade macOS applications. The candidate will work closely with software engineers, product managers, and QA teams in an Agile environment to drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Skills
Strong experience testing native macOS desktop applications
- Proficiency with XCTest, XCUITest, or equivalent macOS automation frameworks
- Strong programming skills in Swift, Objective-C, Python, or Java
- Experience designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks
- Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, and defect lifecycle management
- Experience with API, integration, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or similar
- Experience using version control systems such as Git
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
Preferred Skills
Experience testing applications integrated with Apple ecosystem services
- Knowledge of accessibility testing and macOS Human Interface Guidelines
- Experience with performance and reliability testing for desktop applications
- Exposure to Appium, Selenium, Playwright, or similar automation technologies
- Familiarity with cloud-based test execution environments
- Experience working on enterprise-scale applications
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for native macOS applications.
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automated test suites.
- Validate application functionality, usability, performance, stability, and security.
- Develop automated tests using XCTest/XCUITest and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with development teams during design and implementation to ensure testability and quality.
- Perform root-cause analysis for defects and work closely with engineers for resolution.
- Execute regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing activities.
- Monitor test execution results and generate quality metrics and reports for stakeholders.
- Continuously improve test automation coverage, efficiency, and reliability.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and release validation activities.
- Drive quality engineering best practices and advocate shift-left testing approaches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
- Proven experience testing and automating native macOS applications.
- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch and maintaining large-scale test suites.
