Manufacturing Engineer Cleared Role
Employment Type: Contract (3 openings)
Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required. This position supports work that requires eligibility for a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance. Candidates with an active clearance are strongly preferred; candidates who are eligible and willing to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance will also be considered, in accordance with federal regulations.

Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support the manufacture, assembly, and integration of mechanical components for advanced rocket engine and power systems products. This role is well-suited for hands-on engineers with a strong background in welding, machining, and shop-floor manufacturing environments who thrive in technically complex, high-reliability programs.
The Manufacturing Engineer will support multiple mechanical components or serve as a process engineer for new and developing manufacturing processes that may be applied across multiple programs. The role offers increasing responsibility based on performance and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Development & Hardware Design (Approx. 40%)
Design, develop, review, and implement manufacturing hardware and processes supporting production and engineering customers
Utilize CAD and manufacturing tools such as ProE, CATIA, or similar platforms, along with MS Word and Excel
Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Develop fabrication and assembly processes, including precision turning, tight-tolerance machining, and complex welding operations
Define tooling requirements, machine setups, hardware handling instructions, and sequencing of operations
Determine cleaning, etching, packaging, and protection processes for a wide variety of materials
Support engineering design reviews, including PDR, CDR, and CoDR
Project & Process Management (Approx. 40%)
Lead and manage manufacturing projects with moderate to high complexity
Apply Lean manufacturing principles, including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 3P, and process certification
Prepare and present Basis of Estimates (BOEs), manufacturing plans, proposals, and risk assessments
Evaluate supplier capabilities based on technical performance, repeatability, reliability, rates, and quality system compliance
Drive process improvements that enhance safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance
Tight Tolerance Machining (Approx. 10%)
Define geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for complex designs
Select appropriate machining and measurement methods, tooling, and equipment to meet specifications
Welding Process Support (Approx. 10%)
Develop and implement welding processes for complex configurations and diverse material types
Define welding tooling and fixtures while maintaining dimensional and quality requirements
Safety, Quality & Leadership
Conduct risk assessments to eliminate or mitigate risks to personnel, hardware, and facilities
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to other engineers and technicians
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners, including suppliers and customers
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree with 6+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience
OR Masters degree with 4+ years of relevant experience
OR 10+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree
Strong experience in machining, welding, and shop-floor manufacturing environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment
