Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support the manufacture, assembly, and integration of mechanical components for advanced rocket engine and power systems products. This role is well-suited for hands-on engineers with a strong background in welding, machining, and shop-floor manufacturing environments who thrive in technically complex, high-reliability programs.

The Manufacturing Engineer will support multiple mechanical components or serve as a process engineer for new and developing manufacturing processes that may be applied across multiple programs. The role offers increasing responsibility based on performance and experience.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Development & Hardware Design (Approx. 40%)

  • Design, develop, review, and implement manufacturing hardware and processes supporting production and engineering customers

  • Utilize CAD and manufacturing tools such as ProE, CATIA, or similar platforms, along with MS Word and Excel

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  • Develop fabrication and assembly processes, including precision turning, tight-tolerance machining, and complex welding operations

  • Define tooling requirements, machine setups, hardware handling instructions, and sequencing of operations

  • Determine cleaning, etching, packaging, and protection processes for a wide variety of materials

  • Support engineering design reviews, including PDR, CDR, and CoDR

Project & Process Management (Approx. 40%)

  • Lead and manage manufacturing projects with moderate to high complexity

  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles, including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 3P, and process certification

  • Prepare and present Basis of Estimates (BOEs), manufacturing plans, proposals, and risk assessments

  • Evaluate supplier capabilities based on technical performance, repeatability, reliability, rates, and quality system compliance

  • Drive process improvements that enhance safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance

Tight Tolerance Machining (Approx. 10%)

  • Define geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for complex designs

  • Select appropriate machining and measurement methods, tooling, and equipment to meet specifications

Welding Process Support (Approx. 10%)

  • Develop and implement welding processes for complex configurations and diverse material types

  • Define welding tooling and fixtures while maintaining dimensional and quality requirements

Safety, Quality & Leadership

  • Conduct risk assessments to eliminate or mitigate risks to personnel, hardware, and facilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements

  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to other engineers and technicians

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners, including suppliers and customers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience

  • OR Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience

  • OR 10+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree

  • Strong experience in machining, welding, and shop-floor manufacturing environments

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence

This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to mission-critical manufacturing programs while advancing your career in a technically challenging, clearance-supported engineering environment.
