*** is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Senior Engineering Technician to support the development of next-generation electronic hardware for automotive applications.
In this role, you'll provide rapid prototyping and low-volume hardware assembly capabilities that enable quick design iterations and product development. You'll work closely with engineers across disciplines to build, test, and refine hardware in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment with minimal oversight. You're skilled at reading schematics, assembling complex electronic systems with precision, and communicating effectively across teams. You take pride in your work, enjoy collaborating, and are comfortable working independently in a lean, startup-style setting.
As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will:
Follow detailed procedures and work instructions to ensure accuracy and repeatability in every assignment.
Assist engineers in developing and improving manufacturing and assembly processes for new products.
Assemble and test a variety of electronic hardware, from engineering prototypes through short-run production builds.
Support troubleshooting and propose alternative assembly techniques to resolve issues.
Perform quality checks and act as a quality delegate, inspecting the work of other technicians in the lab.
Conduct final product testing according to written procedures and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring equipment is properly used and maintained.
Communicate clearly and proactively to ensure work meets project timelines and quality expectations.
Work independently on routine tasks with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across teams.
Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance and punctuality.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
This role is a slightly different role than the other Engineering Technician, a few more years of experience and slightly higher pay rate*** Notes from the original position below: Collaborator - They'll be working with about 8-10 people of high caliber technicians and an engineering team Technical skills must have: Read a schematic and understand where parts go with minimal instruction. Strong knowledge of electronics assembly Soft skill must have: ambiguous environment with little oversight. self starter and work independently Nice to have: early start up experience, due to the nature of the build and process this is more start up/ lean. Bachelor degree is not required if experience is a fit. (Question was asked about required bachelor or if trade schools/trade exp would suffice, yes). Any software requirement? Not much a testing role, python and coding skills are nice to have. PLM software/3DX is a nice to have. ERP (SAP or Oracle) experience is a nice to have
DAILY TASKS
Roles and Responsibilities Must be able to follow directions while closely adhering to process detail for each assignment. Assist engineers during the development of new products to optimize the manufacturing process. Assist Engineers in the development of solutions and alternative assembly techniques to resolve issues. Accurately assemble and test a variety of electronic hardware from engineering prototypes through short run production. Perform as a Quality Delegate, inspecting work from other technicians in the Engineering Lab Carry out assignments in a safe and efficient manner. Be informative and communicate in a way that is complete, accurate and clear. Maintain a consistent track-record of attendance and prompt arrival at work. Perform final product testing in accordance with written procedures. Ensure your work area and equipment is kept neat, clean, and well organized. Requires minimal supervision on routine tasks.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Key Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with 6 to 8 years experience in electro-mechanical assembly. Technical training, such as soldering, trade school, or OJT classes (preferred). Ability to read technical documents and drawings. Working knowledge of Google Suit including, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, experience using a computer for entering data, and using the internet Ability to communicate effectively in English Proficient using standard assembly tools: cutters, crimpers, soldering irons, pin insertion/removal tools, and torque tools Hands-on lab experience such as soldering, power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes. Proficient verbal and written English language skills and prior experience working with product development teams in a low volume manufacturing setting. IPC-610, IPC-620, or JSTD-10

We provide rapid prototyping capability and low volume hardware assembly, facilitating quick design iterations for product development. We are looking for someone who's enthusiastic, innovative, a self-starter, and willing to take on the challenges to work with us as an exceptional engineering technician. The candidate will be working with a motivated, high energy team to ensure timely completion of projects in the Engineering Lab. You will be supporting projects developed by cross-functional teams where individual performance is measured in regard to quality, and schedule.
