    Job Description

    Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

    Position Responsibilities:
    • Review project plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
    • Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
    • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
    • Develop pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes.
    • Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct project site visits.
    • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals.
    • Lead bid reviews and support final bid submissions.
    • Analyze subcontractor pricing versus self-performance opportunities.
    • Maintain cost databases, historical pricing, and estimating documentation.
    • Assist project teams with value engineering, change orders, and cost-related questions.
    • Build strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
    • Provide mentorship and support to other estimating team members.
    Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, site development, earthwork, or related construction.
    • Strong understanding of construction means and methods including:
    • Excavation
    • Grading
    • Cut/fill operations
    • Underground utilities
    • Foundations
    • Dewatering
    • Equipment utilization
    • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
    • Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    Software Experience:
    Required:
    • AGTEK
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    Preferred:
    • HCSS or similar heavy civil estimating software
