    Description

    Senior Manager, Merchandising

    The CLIENT Merchandising team is looking for an experienced, smart, proactive, and results-oriented marketer who's passionate and deeply knowledgeable about kids content. This person will provide thought leadership that helps shape our kids strategy; execute end-to-end customer-facing campaigns to drive increased engagement with CLIENT's service and content; track and report on campaign results; and deliver insights that inform future promos, feature functionality, and content development. The right candidate will demonstrate promotional creativity, kids category expertise, cross-functional leadership, a roll up your sleeves and get things done attitude, and a track record of driving measurable results.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Providing thought leadership on the kids offering in areas that include product design, pricing, and feature functionality, driving increased engagement among existing and new customers
    • Providing subject matter expertise on prospective new content, sizing its potential interest among customers and defining launch/marketing plans
    • Merchandising and optimizing the Kids, YA, and Teen content storefronts on all CLIENT surfaces (desktop, mobile, Amazon, etc.) to maximize engagement and discovery
    • Conceiving and executing customer-facing content discovery programs, sales, and promotions
    • Building landing pages and e-newsletters, using our suite of proprietary content management tools
    • Maintaining an always-on holistic eye to our multi-faceted member experience, which varies by member type, device, and geolocation
    • Pulling and analyzing data to report on the results of campaigns, key insights, and best practices
    • Partnering with Social Media to identify the right engagement strategy for the kids customer segment
    • Partnering with teammates to support other Merchandising campaigns and initiatives

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 7 years' experience in marketing/merchandising
    • Deep knowledge of kids' books and authors
    • Strong sense of broader kids' entertainment trends and parents' evolving perspectives
    • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills
    • Experience guiding the development of promotional creative assets
    • Strong customer-facing copywriting skills
    • Strong analytical capability and ability to define, track, and interpret success metrics
    • Ability to think both strategically and tactically
    • Track record of strong results and creative thinking
    • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the proven ability to handle multiple projects and move quickly to deliver results
    • Proficiency in MS Office and content management tools, with the ability to quickly master new tools

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Love of audiobooks and spoken word content
    • Experience in e-commerce, publishing, and/or digital media
    • Basic HTML skills and a general understanding of web development
    • Experience with A/B testing
    • Experience defining business requirements for technical partners
