Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our client. You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, external audit support, and financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of GAAP, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $100,000 to $110,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
Manage the accounts receivable process, including customer invoicing, payment application, and follow-up on overdue accounts to ensure healthy cash flow.
Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts, working closely with the operations team to ensure accurate inventory reporting and valuation.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting principles.
Participate in the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses to provide insights into financial performance.
Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and assisting in audit inquiries.
Requirements:
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
