Job Title: Metal Fabrication TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Metal Fabrication Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for drilling, cutting, and modifying metal enclosures and components used in electricalpower equipment. You will need to ensure the safe operation of fabrication tools while following engineering drawings and maintaining high-quality standards to produce exceptional finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Drill, cut, and modify sheet metal, steel panels, and electrical enclosures according to engineering drawings and work instructions.

  • Create openings for electrical components using hand and power tools.

  • Deburr and finish cut surfaces to ensure quality and safety.

  • Measure and verify dimensions to maintain specification compliance.

  • Protect components from damage during fabrication activities.

  • Remove metal shavings and debris, maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • Inspect work for quality and report drawing discrepancies or concerns.

  • Maintain fabrication tools and equipment in good working condition.

  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 5S standards.

  • Assist with additional manufacturing and production tasks as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to use drills, grinders, hole saws, knockout punches, and other fabrication equipment.

  • Ability to read tape measures and basic mechanical drawings.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or related industrial environments preferred.

  • Experience modifying electrical enclosures or sheet metal products.

  • Familiarity with quality inspections and manufacturing standards.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and fabrication processes.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and operating hand and power tools safely in a manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Trussville, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
