DescriptionA to Z Quality Fencing is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic shop assistant to join our growing team. In this entry level position, you will assist shop supervisors and project managers with a variety of tasks, while learning the basics of manufacturing including how to operate machinery. If you are willing to learn new skills, enjoy working with your hands, and get excited when hardware and tools go on sale, you could be an ideal fit for this shop assistant position. Location Hartford WIPrimary ResponsibilitiesGood organization skills, keeping detailed records of what is done in and around the shopMaintaining and retrieving inventory, lifting and moving inventorySorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or in binsUtilizes material handling equipment such as forklifts, band saw, cut off saw, belt sander, drill press, disc grinder, punch press, CNC, and skid loader if/when neededWeekly preventative maintenance, vehicle inspections, clean and maintain equipmentCutting material down to proper length per job load guide(s)QualificationsValid driver's License/good driving recordHigh school diploma or GED equivalentBasic Mechanical backgroundWelding and CNC experience-preferred but not necessaryFamiliarity with hand toolsMinimum of one to two (1-2) years of materials experience/shop, willing to train the right individualPhysically capable of standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 70 poundsPerforms work involving kneeling, crouching, crawling or other uncomfortable positionsJob PerksWeekly bonus if all requirements are met401(k) matching5 days of PTO /2 paid sick days after 90 daysUp to $300 insurance reimbursement after 90 daysWage/salaryShop $18-$30 /hr depending on experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
