The position is also responsible for implementing aspects of the student's IEP (Individual Education Plan) under the direction of certified staff. This can include instructional support, behavior management, health support, collecting data, and communicating academic and behavioral progress at the school site. Percentage of time spent on essential duties and responsibilities will be dependent on the individual student's needs and abilities.Responsibilities Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.Provide support to students with personal cares (toileting, dressing, feeding) as neededAbility to work with a wide variety of students with different disabilitiesObserve and document students' academic and social behaviors.Consistent and accurate data collection of student progress on goals and objectivesProvide feedback on student progress to classroom teachers and related services staffKnowledge using iPads and other devices used for communication of non-verbal studentsSupport students with de-escalation techniques and use restrictive procedures as needed (Training provided as needed).Supervise students in various settings and locations in and around the school building, before, during and after school hours.Move on and off the floor to meet students at their levelProvide Support/Supervision at mealtimes, at recess and on field tripsMay monitor and/or supervise students in the lunchroom and on the playground in all types of weather.Model appropriate language and social behaviorAble to build strong relationships with children from all backgrounds and neuro-types.Maintain confidentialityEffective communication with all staffGood organizational skills.Regular, on-time attendance is required.Qualifications Minimum requirement; 60 college semester credits and/or two-year degree from an accredited college or university. Please include official transcript(s) with application.In lieu of college credits or degree, one can complete the Paraeducator Assessments.
