Randstad is excited to partner with a prominent retail brand headquartered in Sunrise, FL, to recruit a highly analytical Senior Accountant. In this role, you will take full ownership of the business's multi-unit lease footprint as well as the end-to-end fixed asset lifecycle. You will act as theinternal subject matter authority for lease compliance, handling contract evaluations, liability calculations, capital asset tracking, and strict month-end requirements. This is a direct hire permanent opportunity offering a base salary of $85k-$95k + benefits package.

Responsibilities
- Lease Accounting & ASC 842 Oversight: Manage all accounting functions across the retail portfolio, overseeing new agreements, modifications, terms renewals, terminations, remeasurements, and common area maintenance (CAM) audits.
- Capital Assets & CIP Management: Track fixed asset additions, disposals, retirements, and depreciation, while overseeing construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts for store builds and capital expenditures.
- Close Execution: Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close tasks within a tight 5-day window, posting journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and delivering variance analyses.
- Cross-Departmental Partnering: Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Real Estate, Legal, and Operations to clarify invoice coding, resolve billing disputes, and ensure smooth supplier disbursements.
- System Troubleshooting & Modernization: Take initiative to resolve software discrepancies in lease and fixed asset tracking tools (such as LeaseQuery), driving data integrity and workflow improvements.
- Audit & Financial Reporting: Build schedules for internal financial statements, capital expenditure tracking, ASC 842 disclosures, and external audit review requests.
