    Description

    Grady Health System, a $2.5B health system in Atlanta, Georgiais currently seeking a highly experienced Sr. Architect Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and execution of capital projects for the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare architecture, extensive project management experience, and the leadership skills necessary to guide multidisciplinary teams through all project phases, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and delivering patient-centered, high-performance environments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead architectural design and project management for the Health System, overseeing all phases from pre-design through construction administration (in conjunction with Grady Construction and Project Activations Project Managers).
    • Coordinate with stakeholders including hospital executives, clinicians, engineering teams, and regulatory agencies.
    • Manage internal and external resources including consultants, contractors, and design partners to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
    • Oversee code compliance, including IBC, NFPA, FGI Guidelines, ADA, Georgia Department of Community Health and state health department requirements.
    • Lead user group meetings, facilitating clinical and administrative workflow integration into architectural design.
    • Monitor design quality, constructability, and performance against scope, schedule, and budget.
    • Develop and manage detailed work plans, fee proposals, contracts, and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Assist in the procurement phases of outside Design and Construction firms per Grady Health System Procurement Policies.
    • Utilize tools such as Trimble Unity (Ebuilder), AutoCAD, WorkDay, and Project Scheduling software (Microsoft Project) Office Suite package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
    Required Qualifications:

    Required: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or a close related field of study
    Preferred: Master's Degree.
    • Ideally 10+ years of experience in architectural practice with a focus on healthcare.
    • Experience with Design planning, Drawing and Drafting is highly desired.
    • Proven leadership in managing large, complex healthcare projects through all phases.
    • Deep understanding of healthcare planning, medical equipment coordination, and infection control design.
    • Experience leading multi-discipline teams.
    • Experience with local regulatory processes and permitting including City of Atlanta, Fulton and DeKalb Counties, Department of Community Health (DCH), State Fire Marshal's office and utility providers.
    • Familiarity with Joint Commission and CMS requirements.
    • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
