    Amazon is seeking a highly-intelligent, high-judgement, and self-motivated senior communications professional to join our growing North America Sustainability Communications team. This individual will be responsible for leading the communication strategy for Amazon's commitment to building a sustainable business for our employees, customers, and communities. Specifically, this person would focus on communications plan development, strategy, and execution around Carbon-Free Energy. Additionally, this person should act as a trusted counsel and be comfortable handling crisis communications, working closely with media, and advising senior leadership and executives. They should have a proven track record for leading and executing campaigns and announcements, including writing press releases, working cross collaboratively across teams on various time zones and thinking big. This individual should be able to move fast with high standards, be a self-starter, detail oriented, have the ability to dive deep on complex topics and actively look around corners.

    Key job responsibilities

    -Define, develop, and oversee end-to-end execution of carbon free energy communications strategies and programs

    -Have extremely high standards and judgement with the ability to deliver strategic communications counsel to Amazon senior leaders and executives on both short-and-long-term challenges and opportunities.

    -Work cross-functionally to plan and execute communications campaigns

    -Manage reputational issues with internal stakeholders and members of the media

    -Develop and strengthen relationships with sustainability, business, and trade media

    -Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism

    -Manage external communications agencies and budgets

    Basic Qualifications

    • 10+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

    • Bachelor's degree

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Energy communications experience

    • Experience planning high visibility participation in sustainability and energy events including New York Climate Week, London Climate Action Week, and CERA Week

    • Sustainability communications experience

    • Crisis communications and issues management experience

    • The ability to work autonomously at times and roll up sleeves to get the job done

    • Outstanding attention to detail and bias for action

    • Thrives in a collaborative environment with experience working on large or global teams

    • Strong judgment and ability to make decisions in real-time

    • Executive thought leadership experience

    • Strong AI skills

    The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
